Despite early concerns that U2’s upcoming show at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas would sell out faster than Bono can say, “Get on Your Boots,” tickets for the Oct. 23 concert are still available.

Many fans feared that they wouldn’t be able to get tickets to see the performance due to an elaborate presale that offered members of the U2.com fan club access to seats well in advance of Saturday’s public release date.

While LiveNation refuses to reveal exact numbers of seats sold, through the presale or otherwise, the company’s senior vice president of communications, John Vlautin, said, “There were plenty of great seats available outside of the presale for the general public.”

He said the amount of tickets sold through the presale, which began on Tuesday and continued through Thursday evening, “insignificant.”

“It was a small percentage of tickets … that are available through the fan club,” he said.

Forty-two thousand tickets were made available for the show, priced at $30, $58, $98, and $253 plus taxes and service fees.

Vlautin declined to say how many seats remained for U2’s Vegas show but conceded that three of the four ticket categories are now sold out.

Only seats in the upper, $30-level are still available – and Vlautin said he expects them to soon sell out, too.

In an effort to make concerts accessible to fans, the band previously announced that 85 percent of tickets would be priced at $98 or less, and at least 10,000 seats would be sold for $30 apiece.

After taxes and fees, the cheapest seats to the Vegas show will cost $42.25 each.

More than 2.5 million tickets have been sold for the group’s upcoming “360” tour and several of the stadium shows – including Chicago, Boston, New York, Barcelona, Gothenburg, Amsterdam and double-bills in Toronto and Dublin – sold out in record time.

All 90,000 tickets for their Oct. 25 performance at the Rose Bowl also sold out, effectively making it both the fastest-selling and largest-attended Rose Bowl on record.

The “360” tour will bring U2 and openers the Black Eyed Peas to 20 North American cities starting in Chicago on Sept 12 and concluding in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Oct. 28.

The remaining seats for the Las Vegas show date are available through UNLVtickets, both online via UNLVtickets.com or by phone at 1-877-522-8499.
