To help stop the piracy off of Somalia, naval forces should escort vessels through that area.
Civilian ships should meet at a rendezvous point and then be escorted by a sufficient naval force.
The naval forces should be provided by all countries affected by the piracy. This could be compared with convoys used in World War II.
Consideration may need to be taken on cruising speed of the convoy so that all ships, big or small, can keep together. The naval forces should be capable of repelling any attack by pirates and equipped with firepower to capture or destroy the pirates.
