Shooting
A 12-year-old boy was shot by an acquaintance this afternoon at his home near Jones and Lake Mead boulevards, Metro Police spokeswoman Barbara Morgan said.
At about 3 p.m., a boy opened the door to his home in the 6200 block of Don Zarembo Avenue and was shot by a boy who he knew, she said.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic boy wearing a light blue hoodie, tan pants and white shoes. School Police were notified to be on the lookout for the boy, but no schools in the area have been locked down, Morgan said.
The victim has been taken to University Medical Center and admitted to the trauma unit.
