Conservative activist Chuck Muth has always said there is no such thing as a nonpartisan race, that even contests for local offices need to be invested with party colors to cultivate future leaders and block the other guys. Seems the Democrats have caught on, even if the Republicans he once fraternized with have not. The state Democratic Party, under the headline “Democrats Get Local,” sent out an e-mail urging partisans to support mayoral contenders Andy Hafen (Henderson) and William Robinson (North Las Vegas) at Saturday events because they are ... Democrats. “We must elect Democratic mayors in these two cities to protect education, seniors and the environment,” the e-mail said. Mayors can do all of that? Who knew?
