Spring Jamboree featuring variety of fun

At Spring Jamboree May 2 and 3, old favorites and new attractions will fill the parks during the Chamber of Commerce's annual weekend downtown.

All day Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., visitors can browse antiques for sale, scan the Pan Draggers car show, bounce on trampolines, pet zoo animals, play 3-on-3 basketball, and soak up spring afternoons.

Jill Lagan, chief executive officer at the chamber, said this year, Boulder City Friends of the Arts will display art from Boulder City schools along clotheslines strung in the parks. The art is for sale, and proceeds will benefit the schools' art departments.

In addition, the Nevada Office of Veterans Services will debut its new Mobile Outreach Van. The van will provide veterans service officers to answer questions from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. It will be parked in the City Hall parking lot, on the corner of Colorado Street and California Avenue facing Bicentennial Park.

Entertainment events will be at the gazebo near City Hall, 401 California Ave. The schedule:

10 a.m.: Henderson Symphony Orchestra

11 a.m.: Boulder City Recreation Department Belly Dancers performance

11:40 p.m.: Gamble-Aires

12:10 p.m.: Justin Mather musical performance

2 p.m.: Lenny and the Fantastics musical performance
