Mother with baby in car charged with DUI after crash

Two people went to the hospital with injuries after a rear-end crash on U.S. 93 caused their car to flip about 8 p.m. Sunday, Boulder City Police said.

The two were in a 1986 Pontiac headed north on U.S. 93 at the U.S. 95 interchange when their car was struck from behind by a 2006 Pontiac, police said.

The 41-year-old driver of the car that was hit and his passenger, a 24-year-old woman, both of Las Vegas, were taken by ambulance to St. Rose Sienna Hospital in Henderson with unspecified injuries, police said.

The driver of the other car, Amanda Werber, 28, of Henderson, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on charges of driving under the influence, reckless driving and child endangerment, police said.

Neither Werber nor her 18-month-old child, who was also in the car, were injured, police said.
