Bernard S. Cannon, died July 12 at a Reno hospital.
He was born Oct. 1, 1939 to Bernard C. Cannon and Blanche Southwick Cannon in St. George, Utah.
Cannon grew up in Henderson and attended Basic High School.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Dunklin-Cannon; sons Bernard C. Cannon and wife Kathy of Salt Lake City and David Quinn Cannon of Winnemucca; grandchildren Lindsey Cannon, Trevor Cannon, Cody Cannon, Mitchell Cannon and Zoie Cannon; sisters Ema Gaye Worthen and husband Clair of Henderson, Shirley Swensen and husband Jaren of Salt Lake City, Dorothy Frook and husband Denny of Reno, and brother James L. Cannon and wife Janice of Winnemucca; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on July 18 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Melarkey Street in Winnemucca.
The family requests memorial gifts go to the Cancer Research Foundation. In addition, a scholarship fund will be set up through Albertson's Funeral Home (775) 623-2986.
Altertson's Funeral Home in Winnemucca handled the arrangements.
