The Vermin - The Exciting Sounds of Al Martino

The rapid-fire five-track EP from Vegas’ foremost punk jesters, released at Jesse Nabors’ Fallout Gallery exhibit of the same name, delights in (lovingly) desecrating the common ground between classy jazz-pop and trashy jizz-punk.

The Vermin

“The Exciting Sounds of Al Martino”: saxophone-introed scenes from the trio’s annual you-had-to-be-there lower-Manhattan whiskey crawl. “King of Men”: in which The Vermin casts its members as lovers and fighters, and none too modest regarding either. “Cockfight!”: taunts, guitar wails and rooster calls, all clocking in under 1:30. “Lipstick Smears & Bloodshot Eyes”: the exact musical opposite of a dreaded 6 a.m. comedown. “Fuck You Too in a Lounge”: saxophone redux and bassist Rob Ruckus’ super-swank reimagining of the none-too-subtle A Fist Full of Hell cut.

Shake well, garnish with raised middle finger, serve chilled.
