Dr. Robert Fielden, NCARB, FAIA, is a senior principal with RAFI, a multifaceted planning, architecture and urban design firm. Fielden is internationally recognized for his contributions to architecture. His commitment to architectural excellence dates back to 1967, when he received the state’s first major design award for work on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ chemistry building. His long history of design excellence for public and private sector clients include projects in Carson City, Reno, Stead, Elko, Caliente, Mesquite, Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City, North Las Vegas that serve a full range of occupancy groups. Fielden received his doctorate degree in architecture from the School of Architecture at the University of Hawai‘i, Manoa. Fielden is one of the first 10 architectural doctors receiving this degree, and he was selected to represent the school as its graduate marshal at graduation. The specialized aspects of his professional knowledge, experience and skill focus on practice competency, resource conservation, product and systems integration, quality control of work and profession standard of care. Fielden and his wife Jane were recently honored by receiving the prestigious Governor’s Arts Award for their lifetime contributions to the arts community.
