Nevada board files complaint against Michael Jackson doctor

Nevada state medical officials have filed a formal complaint against Michael Jackson's doctor, saying he twice failed to mention delinquent child support payments on applications to renew his medical license.

Douglas Cooper, executive director of the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners, told The Associated Press on Thursday that an investigative arm of the board has filed a complaint against Conrad Murray. Cooper says the complaint could result in the revocation of Murray's license to practice medicine in the state.

Miranda Sevcik, spokeswoman for Murray and his lawyer, Edward Chernoff, says Murray's legal team received the complaint weeks ago and hopes to resolve it in a way that allows the doctor to keep his medical license.

Cooper says Murray will be allowed to present his side at a hearing in Reno. He says the board will not likely make a judgment before September.

Murray also practices medicine in Houston and holds a medical license in California; however, the complaint applies only to Nevada.
