Coroner IDs motorcyclist killed in wrong-way crash on U.S. 95

Accident location

The Clark County Coroner’s Office has identified a motorcyclist killed Saturday in a head-on collision with another vehicle on U.S. 95 as 32-year-old Jason Wayne Vernon Leigh of Mountain Home, Idaho.

The coroner’s office said Leigh died of multiple injuries as a result of the collision. His death has been ruled accidental.

Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Chelita Rojas said a car was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the freeway at about 10:05 a.m. before colliding with the motorcycle head-on near the Decatur Boulevard interchange.

Medical crews performed CPR on Leigh, but he died shortly after the collision, authorities said.

The driver of the vehicle going the wrong way was an 82-year-old man who was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, Rojas said. It is unknown why he was traveling in the wrong direction.
