Pedestrian killed in hit, run crash on Flamingo identified

A pedestrian killed Friday in a hit-and-run crash on Flamingo Road has been identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office as 50-year-old John Charles Perry.

The coroner’s office said Perry died of multiple injuries from a motor vehicle striking a pedestrian. His death has been ruled accidental.

Police said evidence at the scene and witness statements indicate Perry was crossing Flamingo, west of Escondido Street, outside of a marked crosswalk about 7:30 p.m. when he was hit by a red, four-door sedan that left the scene, police said. The car sustained front-end damage, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or detectives at 828-3128.
