The Clark County Coroner’s Office has identified a man who was fatally shot Sunday morning in downtown Las Vegas as 19-year-old De Shaun Berley of Las Vegas.

The coroner’s office said Berley died of a gunshot wound to the chest. His death has been ruled a homicide.

Police said the shooting occurred about 1 a.m. Sunday at the Bargain Motel, 200 S. 8th St., which is a block south of Fremont Street.

Authorities said it appears the victim and a suspect had a dispute at the motel. The suspect displayed a handgun and shot the victim before fleeing in an unknown direction, police said.

The suspect is described as a black man who is 5-foot-7-inches and wearing dark clothing.
