Metro Police said Thursday investigators are speaking to a person of interest in connection with the shooting death of a man Wednesday night.

Metro spokeswoman Officer Barbara Morgan said officers received reports that gunshots had been fired at 10:39 p.m. in the area of Sweeney Avenue, near the intersection of Charleston Boulevard and Eastern Avenue.

Officers found a man in the passenger's seat of a vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, Morgan said. He was taken to UMC, where he died from his injuries.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office on Friday identified the victim as Lino Cuautle, 42, of Las Vegas. He died of multiple gunshots wounds and his death has been ruled homicide.
