Dennis Thompson, operations manager of Yes! Air Conditioning and Plumbing, gives a few remarks before donating nine energy-efficient water heaters to Habitat for Humanity’s project in Vegas Heights on Dec. 15.

Nine Habitat for Humanity homes in the Vegas Heights neighborhood will be outfitted with energy efficient water heaters, thanks to a donation by Yes! Air Conditioning and Plumbing.

The company donated the equipment shortly before Christmas, as construction is under way on Habitat for Humanity's latest build project in the valley.

The donations were part of the "Yes! Man Cares" program, which supports local charities and organizations, started by founder Kenneth Goodrich. In addition to helping families in need, Yes! and Habitat for Humanity share another goal, said Dennis Thompson, the company's operations manager.

"They have the same interest in mind, which is building an energy efficient future," Thompson said. "This is the time to give back. Even though times are tough, companies should be able to give back in some way, shape or form."
