CARSON CITY – Gov.-elect Brian Sandoval has announced more appointments and has asked Nevadans to join him in a weekend of prayers or personal reflections to help meet challenges ahead.

Sandoval said Friday he has decided to keep Charles Harvey as director of the program that oversees federal stimulus funds for Nevada. Harvey has been director of Nevada’s American Reinvestment Recovery Act since September 2009.

Annalyn Bo Carrillo will be retained as deputy in charge of boards and commissions based in Las Vegas. Christina Davis, who has worked for the Nevada Association of Counties, will become director of constituent services based in Carson City.

As leaders in the state are embarking on a new year of decision-making, Sandoval said it is “appropriate that we consider the need for courage and compassion in carrying out the work of fulfilling our responsibilities.”

He said he and his wife, Kathleen, hope “all Nevadans will join our family in pausing to reflect on the many blessings we have been afforded and to consider the many challenges that lie ahead.”

He has directed Harvey to develop a plan to make sure Nevada is getting all of the federal and private funds available as the stimulus program winds down.

Carrillo was appointed as a staff member in the administration of Gov. Jim Gibbons.

Davis worked in the treasurer’s office in Douglas County and also with the Nevada Legislative Counsel.
