Fugitive arrest

A man wanted by California authorities in connection with an alleged sex crime against a child under the age of 10 was arrested today in Las Vegas, the U.S. Marshals Service announced.

The Nevada Fugitive Investigative Strike Team, or FIST, took Ronald Crocker, 55, into custody in the area of Tropicana Avenue and Boulder Highway within an hour of receiving information about his location, authorities said.

Crocker was booked into the Clark County Detention Center pending extradition to Orange County, Calif., where he is wanted by the sheriff's department.

In a statement, U.S. Marshal for Nevada Gary Orton lauded the arrest.

“This arrest is yet another example that shows the responsiveness and efficiency of the network of U.S. Marshals Service task forces across the country,“ he said.
