Age: 37

Current job: President, Global Architectural Models

Education: Attended University of Nevada Las Vegas, studying architecture and art

About Adam Throgmorton: Through his models, Adam Throgmorton has helped developers and casino operators get a clear vision of how they wanted to shape Las Vegas. Blueprints are one thing, but once a model is created, developers and operators get a 3-D image of the impending reality, and they can see potential flaws and areas for improvement before the project is launched. He has helped shape the Las Vegas skyline with projects such as Bellagio, Excalibur, Fremont Street Experience, Green Valley Ranch, Hilton Grand Vacations, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, Mirage, Monte Carlo, Neonopolis, New York New York, Paris, Treasure Island, Turnberry Place and Red Rock Station. Throgmorton has volunteered for Aid For AIDS of Nevada (AFAN) for five years. He has worked with AFAN’s food pantry, delivering lunches to homebound clients. Now he assists with AFAN’s Black & White fundraiser, including concept design and construction of all props at his studio for the event.

The most important issue facing the valley: The most important issue facing the valley right now I believe is finding the right balance for our sustainability both economically and environmentally which go hand in hand. If we don’t strike this balance soon we could be headed for harder times. There needs to be a focus on higher quality rather than excess so that people will have reason to visit again and again and for new residents to move here.

My mentor and why: My idol has always been Walt Disney. He is the inspiration for me to begin an architectural model career after seeing how it impacts the ultimate design of architecture.

Favorite Web site: I do not have one particular favorite website.

Hobbies: My interests include travel, yoga, meditation, reading, building working miniature wooden roller coasters, outdoor activities, discovering new places and many more.

Fantasy job: My fantasy job would be to design and build a new level of theme park experience that fully immerses its guests into incredible atmospheres for recreation and learning.

One-word description of self: Adventurous
