Michael Byrne brings more than 30 years of management experience to Thomas & Mack Development Group. He has an extensive background in various types of development and construction including commercial, retail, healthcare, advanced technology, municipal, heavy industrial and high-end residential. With Thomas & Mack, Byrne is responsible for directing the design and construction of the company’s office, retail and industrial developments. Before joining Thomas & Mack, Byrne served as vice president – real estate development at Marnell Properties where he managed the development and construction for their office and retail projects. Projects under his guidance included a 36-acre office park, an 80-acre retail project and an 80-acre multi-use business center planned for commercial, industrial and aviation related uses. Prior to Marnell Properties, Byrne served as development director for The Howard Hughes Corporation where he directed the development and construction of commercial, industrial and retail projects within the Summerlin community. Projects included class A and flex office buildings totaling more than 450,000 square feet, build-to-suit projects totaling 152,000 square feet and a 62-acre retail power center consisting of more than 620,000 square feet of retail and restaurant use. Byrne is an active member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties. He received a Bachelor of Science in civil and environmental engineering from Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y.
