North Las Vegas is the country’s worst city for apartment renters, according to rankings released by ApartmentRatings.com.
North Las Vegas also ranked as the least-safe city in which to rent, the website said.
The website, which provides renter reviews of apartments, used its 1 million reviews to create the rankings from 4,268 cities. ApartmentRatings.com launched in 2000.
“This is all data submitted by our users,” said website spokesman Joe Ewaskiw. “We consider it to be the most accurate gauge of what’s out there.”
On the website, renters report their overall satisfaction with their apartment, as well points such as pet-friendliness, safety and parking. Renters also report about noise and maintenance issues, officials said.
Henderson was named the most pet-friendly city for apartment dwellers, alongside Chula Vista, Calif., and Chesapeake, Va.
North Las Vegas, Memphis, Tenn., Scottsdale, Ariz., Raleigh, N.C., and Virginia Beach, Va., ranked as the bottom five cities for apartment renters.
The five best cities are Milwaukee, Wis., Toledo, Ohio, Lincoln, Neb., Boston, Mass., and Winston-Salem, N.C., according to the website.
