A five-car collision, possibly including a drunken driver, has closed a stretch of Buffalo Drive in the west valley, Metro Police said.
Metro spokeswoman Barbara Morgan said the accident happened shortly before 10 a.m. when a black Ford Mustang and another vehicle collided on Buffalo Drive north of Cielo Vista Avenue.
While they were calling 911, three other cars crashed, possibly because of a drunken driver in one of the vehicles, Morgan said.
Emergency crews worked to free a female trapped inside the Ford Mustang, police said. Victims likely will be taken to the hospital, but no life-threatening injuries were reported, Morgan said.
Police shut down a portion of Buffalo Drive north of Cielo Vista Avenue while they continued clearing the scene.
