Police seek fourth suspect in robbery

Tavern robbery site

Metro Police are looking for a fourth suspect in connection with a tavern robbery that occurred Friday morning in Spring Valley.

Police spokeswoman Barbara Morgan said four men robbed a Fred’s Tavern, 4680 S. Decatur Blvd., before 8 a.m. There were no patrons inside at the time, and the two bartenders inside were not harmed, Morgan said.

A black man entered the bar shortly before 8 a.m., made small talk with the bartenders for five minutes and left, Morgan said. Police believe the man was surveying the scene.

After the man left, three other black men wearing dark hoodies entered the bar, Morgan said. One man brandished a gun and the other two men jumped the counter and forced the two bartenders to the ground, taking their cell phones and money from the register.

The four men left the tavern lot in a tan Chevrolet Malibu, Morgan said.

Police were called to the scene at 7:53 a.m. and gave “short pursuit” to the car. The four men stopped and ran from the car, Morgan said. Three of the men were taken into custody by 8:18 a.m. and police recovered money and property from the car.

Police are still looking for the fourth man who was described only as a black man in his early 20s.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 or www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
