Henderson Police might have put a dent in the number of home invasions in the valley with the arrest of three people allegedly tied to a crime ring, authorities said.

The three Las Vegas residents are accused of committing a string of home invasions and other crimes in the Green Valley area of Henderson, police announced today.

LaShay Brewer and Whitney Taylor, both 22, were arrested in connection with 10 felony counts of home invasion, police said. Frederick Brewer, 43, was arrested in connection with the following felonies: convicted person in possession of a firearm, prohibited person owning a gun, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell marijuana and possession of a stolen firearm.

Police spokesman Todd Rasmussen said the home invasions occurred in late December and early January. Most occurred in clusters near Robindale Road and Paseo Verde Parkway.

Henderson authorities, with help from the North Las Vegas SWAT, served search warrants at homes in Las Vegas tied to the investigation. Authorities said they recovered large amounts of stolen items, including televisions, firearms, jewelry and designer clothing, as well as marijuana.

According to arrest reports, LaShay Brewer and Taylor's last apparent home invasion ended when a juvenile returned home and found the two in his house. They told him they were "just cleaning" and escaped through a broken back window.

His description of the getaway car paired with surveillance video from the neighborhood led detectives to LaShay Brewer, who allegedly confessed to the crimes and implicated Taylor, police said.

While executing search warrants related to the home invasions, investigators found a stolen handgun and marijuana at Frederick Brewer's residence, according to the arrest report.

Police said the investigation into the home invasions is still active.
