Phantom Las Vegas’ performer to star in benefit concert for Family Promise

Stepping away from the Strip for an afternoon, "Phantom Las Vegas" star Kristi Holden will perform a special concert benefiting Family Promise of Las Vegas on Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Clark County Library.

The show starts at 2 p.m. in the main theater. Tickets are $20 -$30 can be purchased at the door or by calling 702-845-4335 in advance.

All proceeds will go to Family Promise. Holden, who stars as Christine when she's at the Venetian, also performed the organization's benefit concert last year. That show brought in nearly $10,000 for the charity, Bruce Ewing, one of its board members said.

For an operation based on volunteer work and donations, Ewing said Family Promise relies on fundraisers like the benefit concert.

"It makes an enormous impact. The money goes a long, long way," he said.

Established in 1996, Family Promise works "to find and implement long-term solutions to low-income and homeless families in our communities," according to its website. The group's day site, which opened in 2006, and more than a dozen host sites around the valley provide practical living necessities for families in transition.
