2 men injured in one-vehicle crash on Maryland Parkway

Two men were taken to the hospital after a driver lost control of a vehicle and crashed into a metal fence Saturday morning, Metro Police said.

Shortly before 9:30 a.m., a 1995 Dodge Neon was traveling at a high rate of speed south on Maryland Parkway near Sahara Avenue when the driver lost control, police said.

The vehicle hit a metal fence on the west side of Maryland Parkway near Canosa Avenue, police said. The driver and passenger, both Las Vegas residents, were taken to Sunrise Hospital.

The driver, identified by police as Raul Montenegro, 20, is in critical condition, police said. The passenger, Patrick Hatton, 31, had minor injuries.
