A North Las Vegas police officer on a motorcycle was injured Monday after colliding with a semi-truck, police said.

Police said the collision occurred at 2:44 p.m. at Losee Road and Carey Avenue. The officer was taken to University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Police said the driver of the semi-truck, while traveling southbound on Losee, pulled in front of the officer, who also was traveling southbound in the adjacent lane, and the officer collided with the right side of the tractor-trailer.

The driver of the semi-truck was taken in for a voluntary blood draw, which is standard procedure for commercial truck drivers in such incidents.

The officer's injuries weren't serious, police said. The officer’s name wasn't released.
