Two men suffered serious injuries early this morning after their car hit a light pole in the western valley, Metro Police said.
Police said the accident happened at 4:47 a.m. at the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Torrey Pines Drive.
A preliminary investigation suggests the 2007 Toyota Solara driven by 30-year-old Cristian Montero went outside a travel lane and struck a light pole at the northwest corner of the intersection, police said.
Montero and his 27-year-old passenger, Rogelio Solorio, were taken to University Medical Center's trauma unit with serious injuries, officials said. No other vehicles were involved.
The accident investigation is ongoing.
