Civil rights films to be shown at West Las Vegas Library

The Delta Sigma Theta sorority will host a civil rights film festival at West Las Vegas Library on Saturday, a week before Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday.

Screenings begin at 1 p.m. Admission is free. The program will include communal dialogue and panel discussions, while some audience members will offer commentary during the films.

Films to be screened include: "The Good Fight: James Farmer Remembers the Civil Rights Movement," which tells the story of a man from the South who organized Freedom Rides and became one of the Great Debaters at Wiley College, and "The Real Great Debaters of Wiley College," which chronicles the 1935 debate team that made national headlines when it defeated the reigning national champions from USC.
