School District to host info sessions on magnet schools

For parents and students interested in magnet schools, the Clark County School District is hosting an information session Wednesday evening at Bob Miller Middle School.

The session, which will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., will educate parents on the various programs available at the valley's magnet schools and the necessary steps for their children to apply for enrollment.

Clark County has a variety of magnet schools -- public schools with specialized curriculum -- from first grade through 12th. All the programs are listed on the School District’s website.

School District officials also will hold an open house on the programs Jan. 22 at Meadows Mall, 4300 Meadows Lane, in Summerlin, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Feb. 7 is the deadline to apply for acceptance to a magnet school program.
