For those feeling a little lucky, the city of Henderson is accepting applications for entries in its 45th annual Southern Nevada Sons of Erin St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 19.

The parade is part of the annual festival, which starts March 17 and ends March 20.

The deadline to apply is Feb. 12. More than 100 entries -- including floats, dancers, bagpipers and marching bands -- are expected to travel the mile-long route through the Water Street District during the parade, the city's parks and recreation department said in a news release.

This year's theme is "Shamrocks and Shillelaghs." Awards will be handed out in four categories: Best of Theme, Prettiest, Greenest and Most Original.

The festival will also include a carnival with midway games and rides, live music, food and beverages and the second annual car show. Classic automobiles, hot rods and motorcycles will be displayed along Basic Road and Atomic Street on March 19.

A portion of the proceeds from this year's event will be donated to the St. Baldrick's Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research, city officials said.
