Dickey's Barbecue Pit, 7430 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is hosting a Customer Appreciation Day on Friday.
As part of the event, the restaurant will donate 10 percent of its proceeds to Steven Schorr Elementary School in the south valley.
The eatery, which serves a smorgasbord of barbecued entrees -- from pulled pork sandwiches to baby back ribs -- has been open for almost two years, owner Jason Rivera said in a news release.
"I really wanted to do something special to give back," he said in a statement. "The school system is so important to this community, and it is something that is really important to me."
Customers can grab $1 barbecue sandwiches from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and enter to win free barbecue for one year. Dickey's is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
