A family of three escaped unharmed after a house fire Wednesday morning in Henderson.

The fire department received a call at 7:56 a.m. about a fire at 1252 Marsolan Court, near the intersection of Galleria Drive and Marks Street, fire department officials said.

Two adults and an infant were alerted by smoke detectors and had evacuated when firefighters arrived five minutes later. No injuries were reported.

Heavy smoke and fire was in a garage of the three-story townhouse, officials said, and the blaze was brought under control within five minutes. The fire was contained in the garage with minimal smoke damage to the house, but the family won't be able to return until repairs have been completed, Battalion Chief Tim McKeever said.

Damage was estimated at $45,000. The fire's cause was determined to be accidental in nature, but the specific cause was undetermined as of Wednesday evening, investigators said.

NV Energy, Southwest Gas and a city building inspector also responded to the scene. The American Red Cross was assisting the displaced family.
