Metro Police said Friday the gunman who is accused of shooting and killing a man Thursday night in the northeast valley during an argument fled eastbound on Lake Mead Boulevard. It was the third shooting in the northeast valley in three days.

Police were dispatched shortly before 7:30 p.m. for a report of shots fired in the 5600 block of East Lake Mead Boulevard, near Christy Lane. Upon arrival, they found a man lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds, officials said.

The man was taken to University Medical Center, where he died, police said.

Investigators said the victim had been visiting family at a nearby residence. When he left, a Hispanic man confronted him and an argument ensued, police said.

The suspect allegedly pulled a handgun and shot the victim multiple times before fleeing the scene, police said. Authorities said he was wearing a white tank top, blue jean shorts and a dark ball cap.

The Clark County Coroner's Office will release the identity of the victim pending notification of his family.
