Attempted bank robbery

In some ways, Michael Kasica’s trip to the bank Thursday was typical. He went to conduct his business and grew impatient with the bank employee helping him.

But the 54-year-old’s bank visit was anything but typical: After pulling a knife and demanding money, Kasica left because he grew tired of waiting, according to Henderson Police.

Kasica of Henderson was booked into the Henderson Detention Center on counts of attempted robbery with a deadly weapon and burglary with a deadly weapon, police said.

Kasica is accused of entering the Wells Fargo Bank branch at 900 N. Green Valley Parkway around 9:50 a.m., pulling a knife from his waistband and demanding money from a bank employee, police said.

The bank employee called from her desk for the money, but the suspect became impatient with waiting and fled the bank on foot, police said.

Police spotted a suspect walking on nearby Pebble Road minutes after the alleged robbery attempt.

Kasica acknowledged that he threw the knife into the bushes when he saw the police car approaching, police said.

A knife was recovered in the area, police said.
