Armed man in ski mask robs northwest valley bank

Bank robbery

Two people were arrested Monday after a gun-toting man in a ski mask robbed a northwest valley bank, Metro Police said.

The man described as being in his 30s is accused of robbing a U.S. Bank branch at 5891 W. Craig Road, near Jones Boulevard, Metro Police said.

The man exited the bank around 5:30 p.m. with an undisclosed amount of money and drove off in a 1990s white Mercury Cougar with a woman passenger, police said.

The car drove normally until police were able to catch up, police said.

A chase ensued for about 5 miles before the two suspects jumped from the moving vehicle, police said.

The car continued to roll until it hit a fence on the 2100 block of Engelstad Street, police said. No injuries were reported.

  1. Once again, Bob, Gregan is writing text from a police report and that's all he has to go on. If Greg had included the extraneous material you find lacking, no doubt you would complain that "Surely, the suspects must have names, and what kind of fence did they hit? Fences are constructed of all manner of material. Was the car damaged when it hit the fence?"
