Driver wounded in early morning shooting in North Las Vegas

A woman is in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds after an early morning shooting in North Las Vegas.

North Las Vegas Police responded to a call around 2:30 a.m. of a shooting victim in a car at a gas station near the intersection of West Cheyenne Road and Martin Luther King Blvd, officials said. A preliminary investigation suggests that the woman was driving her vehicle in the area of West Cheyenne Road and North Commerce Street when she was shot several times.

The victim, a 35-year-old woman, was transported to University Medical Center, officials added. A passenger in the woman’s car, a 40-year-old man, was not injured.

The incident remains under investigation. North Las Vegas Police are urging anyone with information to call the department at 702-633-9111 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
