Former UNLV point guard Oscar Bellfield will get another chance to play in Las Vegas.

Bellfield, the Mountain West’s all-time assists leader, was recently added to the Memphis Grizzlies’ summer league roster. After going unselected in last month’s NBA draft, the summer league will give Bellfield a good opportunity to play in front of professional scouts and coaches from all across the world.

As a senior, Bellfield averaged 9.8 points and 5.4 assists per game. He finished with 582 career assists, breaking the previous record of 564 by New Mexico’s Dariese Gary.

Bellfield’s first game will be Saturday at 1 p.m. against the New York Knicks at Cox Pavilion. With the league set to start on Friday, there’s still no word on if former Rebel Chace Stanback will also be on a summer league roster. Stanback, a 6-foot-8 forward and UNLV’s No. 22 all-time scorer, recently tweeted that he was practicing with the Toronto Raptors but he has yet to be placed on a roster.

Tickets for all of the NBA Summer League games can be purchased at UNLVtickets.com.
