Woman injured in northeast valley fire in carport

House fire

A fire under a carport Monday afternoon in the northeast valley sent one woman to the hospital with minor injuries, fire officials said.

Clark County firefighters responded about 12:37 p.m. to 6224 Great Smoky Ave., which is near Carey Avenue and Toiyabe Street.

The fire burned some material stored in the carport, said Dan Kulin, a public information officer for the Clark County Fire Department. It also damaged the bathroom of an adjacent home, he added. Kulin said he was unsure of the circumstances behind the woman's injury.

The fire caused a estimated damage of $10,000.

Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
