A 6-year-old girl died Tuesday afternoon after she was pulled under a car driven by her adoptive father and biological grandfather, Metro Police official said. The Clark County Coroner's Office identified her as Censere Mosly-Wedermyer.

The girl had been standing behind the parked Dodge Magnum at the 8800 block of West Torino Avenue, near Durango Drive and Blue Diamond Road, when the father began to drive away at about 3:05 p.m.

At that same moment the girl attempted to enter the passenger side of the vehicle unbeknownst to her 52-year-old father, police said. The girl was pulled under the truck and dragged 40 feet before he stopped and realized what had happened, police said.

The girl was transported to University Medical Center Trauma with critical injuries, and later died, police said.

The accident remains under investigation.
