The Las Vegas 51s beat the host Reno Aces Tuesday for the second straight night, scoring three runs in the second inning and leading the rest of the game in a 10-2 victory.

Top pitching prospect Zack Wheeler earned his first Las Vegas win, striking out eight batters in 6 and 2/3 innings pitched in his best outing of the season. Wheeler, who has been inconsistent in his previous six starts, surrendered just one run and walked just one batter.

Andrew Brown led the Las Vegas offense with three RBIs, Jamie Hoffmann had two runs and two hits, and Omar Quintanilla went 2-for-3 with a run scored and RBI.

The third game of the four-game series is Wednesday. The 51s returns to Cashman Field May 7.
