Three Clark County School District students were recently awarded Gates Millennium scholarships.
The prestigious scholarship, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, selects 1,000 talented high school students from across the country and provides them with scholarship money to cover tuition, books, housing and other fees through graduation.
The scholarship has awarded an average of $12,200 to more than 16,000 students since its inception in 1999.
Only three Nevada students were selected for the scholarship this year. They are Rancho High School graduates Chorkin Chau and Ken Prasad, and Advanced Technologies Academy graduate Loren Ayala.
