NEW YORK — GingerBread Lane, a 300-square-foot village made entirely of edible gingerbread, icing and candy, has been designated world's largest gingerbread village by Guinness World Records.
The 1.5 ton village is currently on display at the New York Hall of Science in Queens through Jan. 12. It's comprised of 160 gingerbread houses, numerous candy trees, gingerbread cable cars and trains, an underground candy subway station and a skating rink.
Gingerbread Lane took a year to develop and complete and is the brainchild of chef Jon Lovitch. Lovitch plans to give away the gingerbread houses at the close of the exhibit.
