Fatal shooting

One person died and two people were injured in a shooting Sunday morning in a strip mall parking lot on Spring Mountain road.

Metro Police responded about 4 a.m. to reports of gunfire coming from a business complex in the 5100 block of West Spring Mountain Road, near Decatur Boulevard. A preliminary investigation indicates that patrons were leaving a lounge in the strip mall when numerous shots were fired, striking three people, police said.

Officers arrived to find three people suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.

All three victims were taken to University Medical Center Trauma, where one person died shortly after 5 a.m. One victim remains in extremely critical condition, and the other has sustained injuries that are not life-threatening, police said.

Metro is investigating the incident. The identity and cause of death for the deceased victim will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Metro urges anyone with information regarding the incident to call the Homicide Section at 828-3521, or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555, or visit www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
