51s annual “Fireworks Extravaganza”
Ike Davis and Jamie Hoffmann hit solo home runs Wednesday in the second inning for the Las Vegas 51s in a 2-0 victory against visiting Fresno in the franchise’s annual “Fireworks Extravaganza” game.
It was the fourth sellout crowd of the season at Cashman Field with an attendance of 9,397.
Four Las Vegas pitchers limited Fresno to seven hits in recording the fourth Las Vegas shutout of the season. It was the rubber match of the three-game series with the 51s taking two of three games.
Davis had three of the five Las Vegas hits, including a double.
Thursday, the 51s open a seven-game road trip at the Tucson Padres.
