Metro Police detectives have identified a suspect in the fatal shooting last week of a man near downtown Las Vegas.

Metro named Billy Ray Harris as the suspect and was asking for the public’s help in finding him.

Harris is suspected in the shooting death of Marquis Hopkins, 22, who was found dead of close contact gunshot wounds Wednesday night in the 1700 block of West Bonanza Road, near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, police said.

Paramedics pronounced Hopkins dead at the scene.

Anyone with information about Harris’ whereabouts is asked to contact Metro at 702-828-3521 or to contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
