A man died Tuesday morning when he crashed into a car while driving the wrong way on U.S. 95, Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Jeremie Elliott said.

Troopers received a call about 2:25 a.m. of a man in a black Fiat driving north on southbound U.S. 95 near Wagon Wheel Drive, Elliott said. A few minutes later, a second call came in reporting a crash between the Fiat and a Mazda compact car a few miles away on U.S. 95 near Auto Show Drive, he said.

The driver of the Fiat was pronounced dead, Elliott said. The driver of the Mazda was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition, he said.
