The Valley High football team closed its season today with a 74-15 victory against Rancho, scoring more points than their other four league games combined.
Valley finishes the season with a 2-7 record, winning its first — a 34-23 win against Del Sol — and last games. The Vikings took fifth in the Northeast League to miss the playoffs.
“We finally played a complete game,” Valley coach Marcus Sherman said. “It was a fun way to finish the season. Hopefully this gives us something to build on during the offseason.”
Sophomore tailback Ray Tyler had three rushing touchdowns and more than 100 yards for the Vikings, while Charlie Winters scored two rushing touchdowns.
Valley pulled up a freshman to start at quarterback — Iyen Medlock completed all three of his pass attempts, and had a touchdown.
