Autopsy finds prison inmate committed suicide

High Desert State Prison

An autopsy of a High Desert State Prison inmate found dead in his cell Friday revealed that he hanged himself, Clark County Coroner’s Office officials reported today.

Truman Walker’s death was ruled a suicide.

Walker, 67, is the fifth Nevada prison inmate to die in the last two months. He had been at High Desert in Indian Springs since August 2000. He was serving a sentence for open and gross lewdness.

Walker was previously sentenced to prison in 1985 for sexual assault in a case out of Elko County, Nevada Department of Corrections officials said.
