Wranglers fall in Alaska, 2-1

The Las Vegas Wranglers were defeated today 2-1 at the Alaska Aces in the finale of a three-game weekend series in Anchorage.

The Wranglers’ Mitch O’Keefe had a solid game in goal with 37 saves, but Las Vegas went scoreless in the first and third periods.

Matt Tassone scored the lone Las Vegas goal, finding the back of the net on the power play in the second period. However, Alaska scored the game-winner 74 seconds later.

Las Vegas won the opener Friday against Alaska, but lost the next two days — each game by one goal.

The Las Vegas road trip continues this week in Colorado. Wednesday, the Wranglers open a three-game series at the Colorado Eagles.

The Wranglers are back at the Orleans Arena Dec. 6 to face Bakersfield. The Smithereens will play a post-game concert.
