Bicyclist suffers serious injuries after being struck by SUV

Bicyclist struck

An SUV struck a male bicyclist today, causing the man serious injuries and portions of west Lake Mead Boulevard to be closed to traffic.

Metro Police responded to the collision at about 7 a.m. at 2068 N. Nellis Blvd., near Lake Mead Boulevard. The bicyclist was transported to University Medical Center with serious injuries, Metro said.

Westbound Lake Mead Boulevard is closed from Betty Lane to Nellis Boulevard while Metro investigates the accident.
